Evra on Fitness Trail

Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra were not risked for United’s 1-0 win over West Ham as Sir Alex wasn't prepared to chance their fitness.

Rooney has struggled with a hamstring injury since hobbling off against Wigan on 14 January, while Evra injured his ankle against Chelsea three days previously.

Anderson Faces Ronaldo

Fergie Backs Rio for Captain

Sir Alex Ferguson is confident Rio Ferdinand will see out the prime of his career at Manchester United and says he could well make captain in the near future.

The defender, who was recently named in the FIFPro team of the year, has been at the heart of United's defence since signing for the club from Leeds for £29.1million fee in the summer of 2002.

Saha: Starting to Score

Striker Louis Saha believes he is beginning to show Everton signs of the form he is capable of.

The 30-year-old French international scored his first goal for Everton in their 1-0 win against Fulham at Goodison Park on Saturday.

"I'm doing a bit better, it's a bit slower then I expected but I'm still happy," Saha told BBC Radio Merseyside.

Evra on for 100

PATRICE Evra is set to make his 100th start for United against Celtic.

He has gone 67 matches without a goal. His senior career has not been blessed with strikes having scored just once in 36 matches for Nice and once in 136 for Monaco.
