Man Utd: Ronaldo Not For Sale

Manchester United chief executive David Gill is adamant that Real Madrid target Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has warned Ronaldo off making a move to Madrid saying it would be a mistake and now Gill says United have told the Spanish side they have no plans to sell the skilful attacker.

He told Sky Sports News: "We made it clear to them (Real Madrid) from day one we wouldn't welcome a bid, it wouldn't be accepted and therefore I don't think there is not much point in putting one in.

"That's where we are at with the situation.

"Obviously there has been lots of paper talk and a lot of coverage in the media about it and we understand that.

"But the reality of it is we have been very firm from day one."
