Carrick Looking for Win

  • 14 December 2007

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has admitted his admiration for Sunday's opponents Liverpool.

Carrick, 26, said: "As players, Liverpool is always a special game for us - especially at Anfield. The difference this year is that Liverpool are going for the title too, which makes it even bigger. There's no doubt you can feel the intensity surrounding this fixture. You can feel it around the town.

"It just seems to get bigger and bigger every time. There is so much history between the two clubs. It is not only down to being neighbours geographically - but the success both clubs have had down the years and the success they still want."
