OLD TRAFFORD DEMOLITION MAY BE NECESSARY

Manchester United have reportedly come to the conclusion that demolishing Old Trafford may be unavoidable, rather than retaining the historic stadium alongside any new "Wembley of the North" they plan to build.

The initial hope was to preserve the 114-year-old venue, turning it into a 'mini Old Trafford' with a reduced capacity of around 30,000 for the academy and women’s teams. However, recent developments suggest that plan may be too complicated and costly to pursue.

Rio Ferdinand Brands Manchester United As ‘A Team Full Of Strangers’

Manchester United legend-turned-pundit Rio Ferdinand viciously criticised the performance of his former club who failed to show up against Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The round of 16 tie had been excellently poised following a goalless draw in the first-leg in Seville, but United struggled to make the most of their home advantage.

Right from the off, Jose Mourinho’s side gave control of possession to the opposition, and they were very fortunate to have not conceded before the break. The game continued in the same vein after the interval until Wissam Ben Yedder’s arrival changed the complexion of the tie. The Frenchman took advantage of some tired legs in the United defence to score two goals within four minutes, and this ended United’s chances of progressing as Romelu Lukaku netted the sole consolation in a 2-1 aggregate defeat.

Manchester United’s Anthony Martial wants to become better

Manchester United’s striker Martial believes that he will be much better next season.

The French player who signed for Manchester United in September has so far made 39 appearances for the Red Devils and scored 12 goals.

Anthony Martial stated that there is still room for improvement in his game and that he will do his best next season to become much better. He said that he is working much harder in training so as to improve his overall playing abilities. He conceded in the past he used to stop training when he was tired, but now he wants to give his best during training.

Will Manchester United do business this month?

Who’d be a Manchester United fan right now eh? United are currently struggling to inspire confidence this season but did find the net three times on Tuesday night against Newcastle. Unfortunately for Louis van Gaal’s side, they also let three goals in as they were held to a draw at St. James’ Park against a spirited Magpies outfit.

Ferguson and Rooney

If nothing else, the result showed fans that perhaps Wayne Rooney isn’t the problem and United simply need more balance throughout the side. We discuss our thoughts on United’s current standings and whether they need to invest heavily in January or wait until the summer transfer window.

Ander Herrera has superb performance for Manchester United

Since making his Manchester United debut on July 23rd of 2014, Ander Herrera has been one of the players in the team of Louis van Gaal who has managed to have a fairly impressive season as the Spanish midfielder has been awarded with a man of the match award as well as simply being one of the most useful players for his team on certain games.

Louis van Gaal will need all the help he can get in order to continue pushing Manchester United into the top spots of the Premier League as well as help forget the supporters of the club from the recent disastrous seasons that United has been experience and it seems that even though the English club is not going through the best of times, Ander Herrera wants to become a legend at Old Trafford in a similar way to Paul Scholes.

Manchester United struggling to get in top Position

Even with the substantially large amount of cash that Manchester United spent in the previous transfer window in order to bring stars to Old Trafford such as: Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind and others, United are still struggling trying to get into the top 5 spots of the Premier League.

A few weeks ago it was confirmed that Louis van Gaal was going to be given another huge transfer budget so the Dutchman can sign new players and not have to worry about the price or the financial terms of bringing yet another performer to the team and increase the chances of the club of securing a Champions League spot for the upcoming season.

MANCHESTER FACE OFF

Manchester United are preparing for their second big game in the space of a week when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad stadium on Sunday.

This follows after the 1-1 draw with Chelsea last week. It could have easily been the first defeat for the club since the 5-3 thrashing against Leicester City a few weeks ago. As it was, Robin van Persie’s late equaliser has given United real belief that they can continue their unbeaten run despite coming up against the reigning champions. City come into the match on the back of a very poor run of form that is threatening to disrupt their league title aspirations.

United facing new injury setback

The first few matches of the new Premier League season have suggested that Manchester United still possess many of the same frailties in defence and midfield that proved so costly to them last season, and those thinking of betting on the Old Trafford club reclaiming their title with one of the sports betting or online casino gambling sites will have further cause for doubt with the news that another of the club’s defenders – Phil Jones – has now been ruled out of action for a further eight weeks.

While it is true that the 20 year old is not central to the club’s title bid – indeed he has not been able to start a match this season – and the news that he is facing a lengthy recovery time from knee surgery leaves the club even more short of reinforcements at the back.
