Changes in Kiev

MICHAEL Carrick is set for his first start for United since breaking his elbow against Roma in the Champions League at Old Trafford last month.

The £18m midfielder missed four matches but returned for 14 minutes on Saturday at Arsenal as a substitute.

Carrick replaced Brazilian teenager Anderson at the Emirates Stadium and it is likely the 19-year-old will step down tonight against Dynamo Kiev in the fourth match of Group F.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson says there will be two changes from the XI that started against the Gunners and possibly three.

Ryan Giggs could be rested. The Welshman, who'll be 34 at the end of the month, played at Arsenal and with the Reds facing Blackburn on Sunday he is unlikely to be asked to endure three games in eight days.

Nani is expected to replace Giggs on the left wing.
